Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-01-26

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Music LAB. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Music LAB (the "Service") is a product operated by EpicCode ("EpicCode", "we", "our", or "us").

1. About the Service

Music LAB provides technology-enabled tools for artists, labels, and rightsholders, primarily focused on music created using artificial intelligence or AI-assisted processes. The Service may evolve over time and features may be added, modified, or removed.

Services may include:

  • Authorship Certification: recording and documenting authorship/contribution claims based on user-provided data (not a legal authority).
  • Traceability: tracking identification events and metadata history (technical records, not legal proof by themselves).
  • ACR Verification: fingerprint-based matching and validation using third-party technologies (no guaranteed accuracy).
  • Blockchain Registration: optional hashing/timestamping/recording data on supported networks (not a copyright office).
  • Distribution: delivering content and metadata to DSPs (DSPs control acceptance, monetization, and takedowns).
  • Promotion: promotional tools/campaign support (no guaranteed results, placement, or revenue).
2. Accounts & Eligibility

To use Music LAB, you must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms. You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information and keep your account credentials confidential.

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

3. Intellectual Property & License

You retain all right, title, and interest, including all intellectual property rights, in and to your music, sound recordings, lyrics, artwork, metadata, and any AI-generated or AI-assisted elements ("User Content").

Music LAB does not claim ownership, authorship, copyright, or neighboring rights in any User Content. Nothing in these Terms shall be construed as a transfer of ownership, a work-for-hire arrangement, or a joint authorship/co-creation claim.

To operate the Service, you grant Music LAB a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, limited license to store, process, analyze, display, and technically transform your User Content (e.g., encoding, fingerprinting), and to generate traceability/provenance records and reports.

This license is limited to providing the Service and terminates when your content is removed, subject to legal, technical, or contractual retention requirements (for example, audit logs, reporting, or blockchain records).

4. AI & Disclosure

Music LAB may use AI and automated systems for identification, classification, validation, traceability, and reporting.

Music LAB does not use User Content to train AI models unless you explicitly authorize it via an opt-in mechanism or written agreement.

You are responsible for accurately disclosing whether content is AI-generated or AI-assisted. DSP acceptance, monetization, promotion, or takedown decisions are outside Music LAB’s control. Music LAB does not make legal determinations regarding copyright eligibility of AI-generated works.

5. Subscriptions, Fees & Billing

Access to Music LAB requires an active subscription. Plans may change over time. Each higher-tier plan includes the features of lower-tier plans.

Example plans (subject to change):

  • Lite: Authorship Certification, Audio Improvement tools, ACR Verification, Traceability
  • Pro: Everything in Lite, plus Blockchain Registration, Distribution, and release mini-sites
  • Ultra: Everything in Pro, plus promotional campaigns and playlist initiatives

Subscription fees are billed on a recurring basis. By subscribing, you authorize Music LAB to charge the applicable fees and taxes using your selected payment method. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Failure to process payment may result in suspension or loss of access.

Music LAB may update pricing, plan features, and billing terms from time to time. Changes generally apply at renewal unless otherwise required by law.

6. Distribution & Royalties

If you use distribution features, you authorize Music LAB to deliver your content and metadata to selected DSPs. DSPs operate under their own terms and policies, and Music LAB does not guarantee DSP acceptance, availability, monetization, editorial placement, or promotional outcomes.

Royalties collection: You authorize Music LAB to collect royalties generated through DSPs on your behalf (directly or through partners), deduct applicable commissions/fees, and maintain the remaining amount as an internal account balance associated with your profile.

Commission: Music LAB retains a percentage-based commission on royalties from distribution services. Rates may vary by plan and will be disclosed within the Application, on the website, or in a distribution addendum. Rates may change over time.

Withdrawals: Withdrawals are processed via third-party payment providers and are subject to a minimum withdrawal threshold, payout rules, and identity/tax/compliance verification. Balances are not interest-bearing and may be adjusted due to DSP corrections, refunds, chargebacks, or reporting updates.

Reporting delays: DSP reports may be delayed, revised, or restated. Music LAB does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party reports.

Music LAB acts solely as a technical and operational intermediary and does not provide banking, escrow, or financial advisory services.

7. Acceptable Use

You represent and warrant that you own or control all necessary rights to your User Content and that it does not infringe third-party rights or violate applicable law or DSP policies. You are solely responsible for resolving any disputes related to ownership, authorship, or rights claims.

You may not:

  • Upload content you do not have rights to
  • Misrepresent authorship, ownership, or AI disclosure
  • Attempt to manipulate ACR, traceability, or reporting systems
  • Circumvent DSP rules or safeguards
  • Use the Service for unlawful, abusive, or deceptive purposes
9. Other Legal Terms

Privacy: Use of the Service is subject to the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

Suspension/termination: Music LAB may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated, credible infringement claims are received, or required by law or third-party obligations. Certain records (including blockchain or traceability data) may persist after termination.

Changes: Music LAB may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. These Terms are effective as of 2026-01-26.
